For being able to drive a motorcycle, once you have completed your training, you can apply for the Closed Road test to earn your Class 6A learner’s licence. Please bear in mind that we do not provide the motorcycle nor the special protection you will need to pass the test, so you will have to be able to bring your own motorcycle, (respecting the limits and features explained on the SAAQ web) and them you will have to provide yourself with the protection helmet, gloves, clothes and all the protection gear needed to conduct a safe test.

There are certain rules and certificates that you will have to keep on order if your are the owner or the operator of a heavy vehicle destined to the transport of people or transport of goods. Some of the responsibilities that the owner will have is to keep the mechanical maintenance of the vehicle up to date, and to help and assure that every operator is updated with the information about Load standards, Dangerous goods transport, Travel permits, Load and Size limits, and others.

This is the drivers license class 4C. If you want to start driving a vehicle like a taxi or limousine, you will have to pass an exam on the SAAQ to prove you have enough knowledge of the rules and that you are aware of the responsibility that is to carry people with you. The exam is subject to a fee you will have to pay before the exam day, and then you will have to count with at least 12 months of driving experience before you apply to the class 4C licence. Bear in mind that also a Medical exam will be required.

After 10 months you got your first license, the learners license, you will be entitled to participate on the Knowledge test to comply with the first step to achieve your definitive drivers license. After making an appointment by phone or via the Internet, you will be scheduled with a test which you will have to finish in one hour. This test is made by all the information given on the 12 modules lessons you have available on the SAAQ web. Please bear in mind that if you fail the test you will have to wait at leat 28 days to be able to have another chance.

The Ministère des Transports recommends that before the winter season you check that your vehicle is fully prepared to face the cold weather and the special circumstances that you may find during this cold season.
From December 1st to March 15th, it is MANDATORY that you circulate with winter tires in good conditions and that complies with the legal standards that the SAAQ requires. These tires are necessary to have better traction and to grip tightly. Please bear in mind that if you do not comply with the winter tires, you will be punished with fins up to 300 $ plus costs.
